Eighteen Mathematics and Computer Science Students Presented Research Results at URAC

Monday, April 29, 2013

Eighteen mathematics and computer science majors recently presented their 2012-2013 undergraduate research results at the Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration (URAC) hosted by Westminster College's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning on April 24, 2013.

This showcase for student creative and research efforts featured the work of more than 200 Westminster students, who presented posters, oral presentations, documentaries, art projects, and performances.  Posters were on display in the Witherspoon Rooms of McKelvey during three sessions held throughout the day; concurrent presentations and performances were scheduled in Patterson Hall.  The day-long celebration also included the annual Honors Convocation at 3:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Ryan Foley, first-year sociology major, won the first-year research prize at URAC this year.  Dr. Carolyn Cuff and Dr. Terri Lenox, served as advisors to Ryan in his research entitled "Correlation Between SAT Scores and Family Income."
