Joel T. Postema

Assistant Professor of Spanish

Joel Postema received his degrees from Calvin College (BA, 1996), Western Michigan University (MA, 1999) and Washington University (PhD, 2005). He teaches Spanish language and literature at Westminster College. Joel's research interests include Central American narratives, specifically focusing on the indigenous voice and ecological expression. He has been a member of the department since 2005.

Other information:

Joel is currently serving as the faculty advisor of the International Cultures Club at Westminster College.

Joel traveled Nicaragua during the summer of 2007 and then again in January of 2008.

Did you know?

When Dr. Postema is not enjoying himself in the classroom, he just might be on the river fishing. Joel is a frequent at local trout streams and worked in a fly fishing store while he was in graduate school.
