What is Language in Motion?
Language in Motion is an innovative outreach program that gives study-abroad returnees, international students, and upper level language students the opportunity to create language and cultural activities for presentation in local K-12 language and social studies classes.
With the guidance and support of Westminster’s Department of Modern Languages, The Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the Language in Motion program at Juniata College, we began our own program with great success in the spring of 2007. Thanks to the cooperation of 13 area teachers, a team of 12 Westminster students made 31 presentations to nearly 700 students on a variety of subjects and languages.
As we work to generate and boost interest in languages and culture, we build strong collaborative relationships. Together, we strengthen the teaching and learning of second languages and world cultures in our community.
