Westminster's public relations program requires all students to complete a 160-hour internship following the completion of all classes through the third year. Throughout the internship, each student is required to keep a daily journal detailing their progress, to create a portfolio to showcase their work and accomplishments (including press releases, brochures, and other creations), and to write a reaction paper discussing important aspects of their experiences. The internship is a four-credit course and is one of the most important parts of the program.
The Career Center at Westminster helps students make contacts with alumni and with businesses around the area (including Pittsburgh, PA) which accept interns.
