Certification Areas:

Westminster offers programs of study which lead to a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in the following secondary fields:
  • Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (grades 7-12)
  • English (grades 7-12)
  • French, Latin, Spanish (grades K-12)
  • Social Studies (grades 7-12)


REQUIRED COURSES:
  • SED 201 Foundations of Special Education 4 Semester Hours (SH) 2nd or 3rd year
  • ELL 206 English Language Learners 3 SH 2nd or 3rd year
  • PSY 231 Educational Psychology 4 SH 2nd or 3rd year
  • EDU 351 Reading in the Content Area 4 SH 2nd or 3rd year
  • EDU 582 Field Experience 2 SH 2nd or 3rd year
  • SED 572 Special Education Field Experience 2 SH 3rd or 4th year
  • EDU 451 Teaching in the Secondary School 4 SH 4th year - Fall
  • EDU 452 Student Teaching 16 SH 4th year - Spring
