College Receives $1 Million Grant to Increase Qualified STEM Educators in Western PA High-Need Schools

Officials announced today that a $1.027 million grant has been awarded to Westminster College through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program of the National Science Foundation, a program aimed to increase qualifications of secondary educators in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (IQ STEM).

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - During the Spring Semester three Westminster early childhood/special education majors and two professors traveled to Israel for eight days to conduct research concerning the role of religion in public schools.

Westminster College Distributed 35,000 Free Books to Area Teachers; Donations Sought to Provide for More Local Children

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - After a successful distribution of 35,000 books to area teachers on Wednesday, First Book-Westminster has received another challenge: to raise donations to provide even more books to area children. Anything raised between now and Sunday, May 11, the national First Book organization will match that dollar amount up to $10,000.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - On Wednesday, May 7, Westminster College, First Book-Westminster, and community volunteers will distribute 40,000 free new books to area public school educators after winning a national competition to register 300 schools and programs that serve children in need.
