Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College

Jesse T. Mann accepted the position of Dean on March 3, 2003. As a Professor of French, he has served the College for 25 years, in multiple roles including Associate Dean of the College, Registrar, and Chair of Modern Languages. He graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in French from the University of Virginia. Dr. Mann resides in New Wilmington with his wife, Vicki, who is employed as a part-time music instructor at the College. They have two daughters, Courtney Cacatian and Lauren Vermilion. Courtney works for the World Wildlife Fund and attends graduate school at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She and her husband, Leo, live in Arlington, Virginia. Lauren works for Argosy University in Pittsburgh.  She and her husband, Andrew, live in Robinson Township.


Executive Secretary

Gabriella Budai accepted the position of Executive Secretary for Academic Affairs in September of 1997. She has been employed at Westminster since 1994, having worked in the Departments of Physics and Psychology. Gabe resides in New Castle with her husband, Jan, a seventh grade teacher and Athletic Director for the Shenango Area School District and a 1977 graduate of Westminster.  Their daughter, Kylie, a 2003 graduate of Westminster, is a fourth grade teacher at George Washington Intermediate School in New Castle. A miniature dachshund, Roxy, completes the family.


Administrative Secretary

Lori Shaffer accepted the position of Secretary to Academic Affairs, Graduate Program and Faculty Development in March 2011. Lori earned her Masters of Education from Westminster College and BSBA from Youngstown State University. She has been employed at Westminster College since 1998 and has worked in the Religion, History, Philosophy and Classics Department, Chapel Office and for the First Year Program. Lori has two daughters and a son: Erin Ripper, who is a therapist for Arbour Counseling Services and resides in Arlington, Massachusetts with her husband David, Kevin who is Director of Operations at Maxim Healthcare Services and resides in Columbus, Ohio and Emily who is a college student. Lori resides in New Wilmington.
