GROVE CITY, Pa. - The no. 3-seeded Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 1-0, at the no. 2-seeded Grove City at the 2013 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday. The Titans finished their season with an overall record of 11-7-2, while the Wolverines improved to 11-8-1 and advance to the PAC Finals. Westminster captured a berth to the championship tournament for the first time since 2010.
Titan sophomore goalie Maddy Frech (Leechburg, PA / Kiski Area) earned a career-high 12 saves on the day. Frech finished the season with a 6-5-1 record after a complete-match effort.
The lone goal of the game came in the second half when Grove City's Sarah Flenniken headed a free kick pass from Sarah Cessar at the 59:50 mark.
For the game, Grove City outshot Westminster 23-5. Titan sophomores Raechel Pusateri (Volant, PA / Wilmington) and Rebecca Bradnam (Irwin, PA / Hempfield) each registered a shot on goal.
Westminster's 11 wins are the most since 2009. The Titans' victories over Washington & Jefferson and Grove City during the regular season were the first since 2007.
