MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Two western Pennsylvania Republican state representatives say they'll run to replace the retiring Republican state senator.

State Rep. Greg Lucas, was elected last year to represent the Fifth Legislative District, covering northern Crawford and southern Erie counties. State Rep. Michele Brooks has served the 17th District, which includes parts of Crawford, Mercer and Lawrence counties, since she was elected in 2006.

Both announced their intentions to run shortly after state Sen. Robert Robbins, of Mercer County, announced he was retiring and wouldn't run for re-election in the fall.

The 69-year-old Robbins also served in the state House of Representatives from 1983 to 1990 before being elected to the Senate. He occupies the 50th District seat, which includes Crawford and Mercer counties and parts of Butler and Lawrence counties.
