VOLANT, Pa.-Bargain hunters have a 15-mile stretch of Route 208 in Lawrence County's Amish countryside to explore for deals in August. On Saturday, August 9 from 10 Volant Mill will sponsor a gigantic yard sale to celebrate National Yard Sale Day. The continuous stretch that includes Volant, New Wilmington, Pulaski, & New Bedford will give treasure hunters the opportunity to find that "one of a kind" item they've been seeking.
Route 208 begins at the Ohio State line and connects Interstates 376 and 79.
"Last year we gave each 2nd Saturday event at Volant Mills a theme," said Cheryl Geidner, coordinator of the activity. "Last year's 10 miles of treasures, in conjunction with National Yard Sale day, was such a success that we expanded it to include New Bedford, Pa and now it spans 15 miles of treasures. The community activity gives residents, churches and businesses along Route 208 the opportunity to sell their treasures and for buyers to enjoy the countryside while also finding great bargains."
The gigantic yard sale runs from 10 to 5 and is sponsored by Volant Mill as part of its 2nd Saturday Event to promote local merchants and tourism.
