Friday, February 7, 2014HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) - Spending in the wide-open campaign for the Democratic nomination to challenge Gov. Tom Corbett is beginning in earnest, and TV commercials might be on the air for 15 more weeks.
As of Friday, businessman Tom Wolf was the only candidate in a big field of Democrats to have ads on the air.
Wolf's campaign says it's airing three different ads, with media buys in every market except Erie.
Wolf is investing $10 million of his own in his campaign and reports having more campaign cash than any other candidate. At a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars a week, he may even have enough cash to air ads through the May 20 primary election.
A campaign spokesman says people are starting to recognize Wolf everywhere he goes.
