Friday, January 10, 2014HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - The Pennsylvania Lottery is getting a new leader.
State revenue officials named Hershey businessman Silvan Lutkewitte (LUK'-a-wit-ee) III as the lottery's executive director on Friday.
Lutkewitte most recently served as chairman of the Pennsylvania Independent Regulatory Review Commission. He begins his new job Monday.
Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser says Lutkewitte has broad experience in business growth, retail operations and contract negotiation.
He says Lutkewitte previously worked for more than 20 years in various capacities with gas stations and convenience stores.
Lutkewitte replaces former executive director Todd Rucci, who left to join a Lancaster-based printing company.
The Pennsylvania Lottery is one of the nation's largest, with $3.7 billion in sales in its last fiscal year. Last month, the Corbett administration abandoned a plan to privatize the agency.
