Thursday, December 12, 2013NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Harry Greene)-- Music Education senior Tim Skero is in love-- with the guitar. He can go electric or acoustic when it comes to the guitar. He's came to the instrument at what he calls "the ripe old age of 16."
He admits he came to music later than most students in Westminster's Music Department. He's a great example of how a person can find his passion at any age while also discovering they can make a living at it. He's also WCN 24/7's first subject of a regular vodcast we're calling "Musican Showcase." Skero was gracious enough to come to our new Studio 1 at Westminster Cable and shared with us his thoughts about the guitar while also performing for us so we could share it with you.
Skero is a Mercer County resident amd will begin student teaching in January. He is from Hermitage and is a graduate from Hickory High School. He also plays trumpet, spent time with the marching band, Chapel Drama, and has performed with Opera Westmisnter.
Skero is also a composer. When he was a sophomore he performed an original composition at the Westminster College Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration. That's when WCN's Andrea Tice caught up with him and he reflected on his passion for music.
