The works of Kathy Koop on display in this show are the result of nearly four decades of teaching, learning and making art, mastering and extending the techniques of others, absorbing disparate landscapes and foreign cultures (from western Pennsylvania to Malaysia, Japan and the Amazon) and with eye, mind, heart and hand shaping graceful and evocative responses to them in clay or wood, first in a variety of ceramic styles before moving to the construction of rustic furniture.
