NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Motivational speaker, former NFL player, and sports trainer Anthony Griggs will speak during the 2018 Spiritual Emphasis Westminster (SEW) speaker series at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the Wallace Memorial Chapel on Westminster’s campus.

Griggs, a linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns during the 1980s and the player development coordinator with the Pittsburgh Steelers under Coach Bill Cowher, will share his message on “Stepping Towards Success … The Power of Trust” during the Vespers service.

In his role with the Steelers, Griggs maximized the players’ potential through a comprehensive weight training and conditioning program. Griggs helped players mature into responsible and caring citizens “off the field” so they could be the best players on the field.

Alongside his football accolades, Griggs is a founder of AG Squared Networks Inc. (AGGNET) and AG Foundation. AGGNET is a business and personal development company that helps bridge the gap into emerging markets and opportunities, while the AG Foundation is an educational based charity geared toward exposing young boys and girls to different options and experiences to help them become more empowered in their own decision-making skills.

Griggs is also the founder of Daddy’s Girl Foundation, which brings attention to the importance of a father’s role in a daughter’s life and promotes principles that build positive father-daughter relationships.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information about the SEW Speaker Series, contact Westminster’s Office of Faith and Spirituality at 724-946-7117 or email Diane Gabriel at gabriedl@westminster.edu.
