Westminster College Offers "Roc-the-Mic" Poetry Bash

The Westminster College Office of Diversity presents "Roc-the-Mic" Slamming, Jamming Poetry Bash Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Club Room of the McKelvey Campus Center.

The event, which is free and open to the public, features the music of Galen Abdur-Razzaq, a flutist from Montclair, N.J. He has performed and recorded with recording artists, Billy Taylor, Sonny Phillips, Gwen Guthrie, Eddie Gladden, Grachan Moncur III, Jimmy Heath, Clifford Adams, Melba Moore, and Freda Payne.

In addition, the audience is invited to recite their own compositions to the background tunes of the Galen's jazz flute.
