Education professor’s article awarded Editorial Pick of the Year

NEW WILMINGTON, PA – An article co-authored by Sararose Lynch, associate professor of education at Westminster College, was selected as a favorite pick by the editorial panel of the Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School journal.

Lynch served as lead author of “Productive Struggle for All: Differentiated Instruction,” which was chosen as the 2018 Editorial Pick of the Year. Lynch collaborated with Jessica Hunt from North Carolina State University and Katherine Lewis from the University of Washington. The article appeared in the January/February 2018 issue of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, a peer-reviewed publication by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)

Lynch, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2012, earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics and secondary mathematics education from West Virginia Wesleyan College, a master’s in rehabilitation counseling, and an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction from West Virginia University.
