NEW WILMINGTON, PA—Westminster College has been named to Money magazine’s “2018 Best Colleges for Your Money” list based on quality of education, affordability and alumni financial success.

Of the 727 schools selected, Westminster is one of only five Western Pennsylvania schools listed in the top 300 and is among the top 40 percent of four-year private and public colleges and universities nationwide. This year’s placement ranks Westminster above schools such as the University of Pittsburgh, Allegheny College, Slippery Rock University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, confirming that Westminster is one of the best value colleges in higher education.

To make the cut, each college had to have at least 500 students; have sufficient data to be analyzed; not be in financial distress; and have a graduation rate at or above the median for its institutional category.

Money’s rankings for the 727 eligible colleges and universities were based on the quality of education, affordability during college and student debt payoff rates after graduation, and alumni outcomes—all of which are critical conditions students evaluate before selecting a college. This is the fifth year for the rankings.
