Recent graduate Rachael Radvansky received the 2018 Mary Hill Book Award from the Westminster College School of Education. Radvansky was honored in May 2018 for her academic achievement based on her capstone experience at New Wilmington Presbyterian Church Youth Programming.

She was nominated by child and family studies program coordinator Diana Reed.

“Rachael embraced the tenets of the Child and Family Studies major and looked for ways to continue to strengthen her expertise during her capstone experience," said Reed. "She worked closely with staff members to learn effective strategies when working with children of all ages and with diverse families. By the end of the semester, she glowed with excitement about continuing in a career working with children and their families."

The Mary Hill Book Award was created in 2015 by Dr. Barbara Faires and Dr. Charlene Klassen Endrizzi to honor the literacy contributions of Dr. Mary Hill, emerita.
