Musicians and movie buffs, alike, agree that Star Wars has one of the most recognizable and commendable scores. Therefore, the Westminster College Symphony Orchestra will perform the classic “Star Wars Suite” by J. Williams at their spring concert on Friday, April 27, in Orr Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

The piece includes themes from the original trilogy including "Main Title," "Princess Leia's Theme," "Imperial March," "Yoda's Theme," "Throne Room," and "End Title."

In addition to “Star Wars Suite,” other pieces to be performed are “The Lark Ascending” by R. Vaughan Williams and “Senza Mamma” from Suor Angelica by G. Puccini.

“Senza Mama” tells the tragic story of a nun and the death of her illegitimate child by portraying a mother’s journey in deep depression and mourning. “The Lark Ascending” is inspired by a poem by English poet George Meredith and has become more famous than Meredith’s poem.

To be featured during the concert is senior music education major Ashleigh Nealer and senior music performance major Samantha Connell

The concert is open and free to the public.
