On Tuesday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Patterson Hall (room 207), Westminster College will host a safe drinking water workshop. Water resource educator with Penn State Extension Susan Boser will be on campus to discuss private water systems including tips for well maintenance and preventing contamination, common water problems in Pennsylvania and treatment options. Participants are able to bring a water sample for some basic on-site testing and find out about options for further drinking water testing by certified labs.

For the past 18 years, Bosen has worked to educate clientele in Western Pennsylvania about water resources including drinking water, ponds, pollution prevention and youth water education. Susan is a graduate of West Virginia University where she majored in Environmental Protection.

This event has been arranged by Lawrence and Mercer ALLARM (Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring), a student outreach group based at Westminster College.

Contact Dr. Helen Boylan, professor of chemistry, at boylanhm@westminster.edu or 724-946-6293 for additional information about this event.
