Colleges Against Cancer at Westminster College is gearing up for their annual Relay for Life event. The Relay takes place April 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Burry Stadium (rain location is the Marge Walker Center/Old 77). At 10:40 a.m., there will be a "Survivor's Ceremony" to celebrate those who have fought the battle against cancer and won. The opening ceremony and "Survivor's Lap" (a lap specifically for survivors) will follow.

Throughout the day, there will be a variety of performances, face painting, ribbons and fun activities for everyone until the Luminaria Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. The Luminaria Ceremony is a special service honoring those who have passed from cancer; those still fighting; and those who have survived.

Anyone interested in donating to Westminster's Relay are encouraged to do so by visiting the Relay for Life of Westminster College page. All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society for providing detection and treatment options, patient services and educational programs.

Also, all those who are or know a survivor that would like to participate in the Survivor's Ceremony, please contact CAC president Emily Russell via email at russek22@wclive.westminster.edu before March 31, 2018.
