The Westminster College School of Business hosted the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Accounting Career Day for 120 students from five local high schools on Oct. 25.

Four teams of panelists provided students with information about career paths in accounting and Westminster’s role in preparing its graduates for success.

Panelists included Carl Sizer, CPA and Kevin McCarty ’13 from Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP, Alicia Seitz ’11, CPA from Hill Barth & King LLC, Sean Gibbon ’16 from JFS Wealth Advisors, Professor Jesse Ligo, Jr. ’82, CPA MBA, and senior accounting students, Mariah Turiano, Nathan McMaster, John-Scott Somora, and Matthew Slagle.

“The PICPA Accounting Career Day is a wonderful event to help high school students become aware of what opportunities an accounting degree can give them in the future,” said Mariah Turiano. “Being part of the student panel allowed me to give valuable insight on why accounting is a great career to pursue.”
