This week, Westminster College announced a 20% increase in incoming first year deposits and a 21% increase in applicants, compared to June 2015.

“In our region, we’re in the midst of fierce competition – and yet, by these numbers, we can see that students and families from across the nation recognize the importance in the strong liberal arts education that Westminster provides,” said Dr. Thomas H. Stein, vice president for enrollment and marketing.

Incoming students will add to Westminster College’s geographic diversity, representing four countries and 20 states.

“Westminster’s long legacy has been to provide an educational experience that students will enjoy and thrive in,” said Stein. “Our job in the admissions office is to find students who match this unique experience.”

Stein attributes the enrollment increase to the efforts of the admissions staff, focused marketing, and faculty engagement.

“Student Affairs is very excited about this growth and looking forward to the added vibrancy it will bring to campus life,” said Gina Vance, associate dean of student affairs. “This larger class will join a long line of engaged student leaders who are eager to welcome them to campus.”
