A member of Westminster College’s board of trustees from Butler, Pa., recently won a black and white photography contest at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

From over 300 photographs submitted, “Black Water Reflections” by Glenn Thompson ’68 was selected as competition winner by a panel of professional photographers and artist jurors, as well as a public vote of over 1,100 individuals.

The competition was inspired by “Ansel Adams: Eloquent Light,” an exhibition exclusive to the Reynolda House Museum of American Art by Ansel Adams, one of the most renowned photographers in American history.

In addition to Thompson’s recognition, his photography, along with fabric-coiled baskets by his wife, Linda Stephenson Thompson ’70, will be on display at the Red Brick Gallery in Foxburg, Pa. through May 29. The Gallery is located at 17 Main Street in Historic Foxburg, Pa.

“As an educator and business executive, we owe our versatility and well-roundedness to our excellent liberal arts education from Westminster College,” said Linda Thompson.

Glenn Thompson earned a degree in chemistry from Westminster. Most recently, he has been an active volunteer with the Westminster College Tweetspeak Cluster course.

Linda Thompson received a degree in English and minor in secondary education from Westminster. She completed a Master of Arts in gifted education at Kean College, now Kean University, in 1983 and then became a coordinator of gifted programs throughout her professional life.
