“When I arrived at Westminster, I found students, faculty, and staff who were determined and committed to service. Over time, I have come to know a community that embraces the opportunity and creativity that comes from being engaged in a true hands-on and hearts-on experience.”  - Dr. Patrick Krantz, director of the Drinko Center.

During the Fall 2015 term, four sections of Inquiry participated in the annual blanket sale to support the Royal Family Kids Camp, KIVA and the Westminster Fund.

  • The students mounted the Inquiry Blanket Project, selling blankets to raise money for Kiva, Royal Family Kids Camps and the Westminster Fund.  They made 85 blankets before the Thanksgiving break for a holiday blanket sale.
  • "This project promotes learning, experience and understanding of service and giving as we work toward the outcome of building character at Westminster," said Brad Weaver, Broadcast and Media Production lecturer.
  • Kiva supports individuals around the world in search of a small, no-interest loan to help improve the quality of their lives, help them with a business and support hope and respect as they try to help themselves. The Kiva loans are paid back so the money can go out in future loans.
  • Many people buying the blankets also donated those blankets to the Royal Family Kids Camp. Those blankets will go to kids attending camp next summer.
  • The Westminster Fund also benefits from the project as a donation is made for the students in the Inquiry classes as part of the senior gift project for the Class of 2019.
