The Titan Marching Band will begin spring semester with memories of a successful fall semester behind them.

Along with providing musical entertainment at football games on home turf, the band guest performed at South Fayette and West Allegheny high school marching band festivals, as well as the Lawrence County Marching Band Festival. These performances provided the band with opportunities to perform for stadiums filled with more than 1,000 marching band students, parents, and community members.

“These performances allow the Titan Marching Band to get our name out and to demonstrate our high caliber marching technique to students who wish to play at a college level in the future,” said Dr. R. Tad Greig, professor of music and director of bands at Westminster College.

With Karl Rove as a member of the audience, the band performed for the Mock Convention providing musical ambiance for the event’s opening night. The band also took their music across the road, performing for those who were unable to attend concerts at the Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care Retirement Community.

“People who work or live at the Shenango Home often tell me that they hear the marching band during practice sessions, so we thought it would be fun to bring the band to them,” continued Greig.
