Sponsored by the department of biology at Westminster College, senior biology and molecular biology students will showcase their capstone projects in a poster session from 2 – 4 p.m.December 4 in Witherspoon Rooms, McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The yearly event features students’ required collaborative coursework in Biology 601, taken during junior year, and Biology 602, taken during senior year. In both courses, students work alongside faculty advisors to design, propose, and carry out their research project.

Two among 15 projects being presented this year are “Change in Mosquito Behavior in Response to an Experimental Compound using a High-Throughput Screening System,” by Zachary Johns and “Cortisol Assays Reveal Stress Levels are Correlated with Social Dominance in African Elephants,” by Mikayla Neely
