Westminster College broadcast and media production majors will present the 2015 Capstone Documentary Showcase starting at 1 p.m., Dec. 5, in Mueller Theater, McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The student producers will premiere six short documentaries which explore a variety of topics, people, and places as the students engaged in experiential through research, interviews, and production.
"The documentary project challenges each student step into the role of full-time producer and director challenging them as young media professionals," said Brad Weaver, broadcast and media production lecturer and capstone adviser. "Producing documentaries provides them the chance to present research, critical thinking, and storytelling to an audience. Each student will also submit their work to a festival or peer-reviewed competition."

At Westminster, the final portion of the liberal studies approach to broadcasting is a senior study/capstone course. The capstone is a course designed to provide an opportunity for students to create, evaluate and assess the strengths and limitations of their experiences and skills.

Carl Greene, a junior broadcasting and media production major, is a son of David and Rebecca Greene and a graduate of Franklin Area High School.
