Women's Soccer Remain Undefeated

The Westminster College women's soccer team, who was recently regionally ranked, won 4-1 at Allegeny College on Tuesday. The Titans remained undefeated with a 7-0-1 overall record.

The Titans, who were ranked ninth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III Great Lakes poll, scored two goals in the first half and two in the second.

Westminster senior Rachel Simko (New Castle, PA / Laurel) netted the first goal at the 11:18 mark, her team-best seventh of the season, after receiving a pass from first-year Keely Birsic (N Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic). Five minutes later, Allegheny (2-7) tied the game, 1-1, with a goal by Sarah Donohue.

Titan senior Raechel Pusateri (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington) quickly put Westminster back in front with a goal from 20 yards out in the 18th minute. Simko earned the assist.

Pusateri extended the Titans' lead with her second goal of the game at the 64:32 mark in the second half, this time from 25 yards out.

Junior Sammy Creese (Mount Airy, MD / Glenelg) added insurance with a another Titan goal in the 72nd minute, her first of the season, after receiving a pass from sophomore Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard).

Titan sophomore goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned her seventh win of the season after playing 82:05 minutes, while earning four saves.

Westminster will open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Friday when it travels to Thiel College with a start time of 6 p.m.
