Senior to Give Piano Recital

Matthew Fodor, a senior music performance major at Westminster College, will perform a piano recital, Saturday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

 The program includes Chopin's "Nocturne, Op. 27, No. 1 and "Etude, Op. 25, No. 1 in A flat major;"  Debussy's "Six Epigraphes Antiques I:" Bach's "Toccata in D major, BWV 912;" Cage's "Bacchanale;" and Beethoven's "Sonate, Op. 10, No. 2 in F major."

 Fodor is a son of David and Bonnie Fodor, Hermitage.  He has performed in numerous events, on-campus recitals, and music department colloquia.  He received first place in the 2005 Mu Phi Epsilon Concerto and Aria Competition at Westminster College and received honorable mention in the Keystone State Piano Competition for Pennsylvania Music Teacher's Association in 2003 at Temple University.  Fodor has also appeared as a vocalist in the opera production of "Hansel and Gretel" and "When the Lights Go Down."  He has served as assistant musical director for the chapel drama "Godspell" and has participated in the Westmisnter Men's Chorus and Concert Choir.  In addition, Fodor has performed Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, movement three with the Westminster College Orchestra last May.  Fodor has been accepted into the graduate degree program at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
