Chamber Singers and Concert Choir to Present Fall Concert

The Westminster College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will present "Make a Joyful Noise" on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. Samuel Barbara, Westminster assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, Jennifer Peet and Benjamin Grove are accompanists.

The Concert Choir's program includes selections by Lajos Bardos; Felix Mendelssohn, Antonio Lotti; Laszlo Halmo;, Eriks Esenvalds, featuring Becca Bly and Lauren Thayer, soprano soloists and Jennifer Peet ;and Alexis Musgrove, soprano obbligato; Greg Knauf; Undine S. Moore, featuring Joseph Spurio, tenor, and Mark Hockenberry, baritone; and Eliza Gilkyson/arr. Johnson.                                                                

The Chamber Singers will include selections by Knut Nystedt; Jack Klebanow; Johannes Brahms; Giovanni Palestrina; Herbert Howells, featuring Mark Hockenberry, baritone; Healey Willan; and Stacey V. Gibbs.

Barbara, who began working at Westminster this year, earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Portland, and his DMA from the University of Southern California.
