College Names New Alumni Relations Director

Westminster College has named Kara Petro as its director of alumni relations.

"We are delighted to have Kara join Westminster's advancement division," said Grady Jones, vice president for institutional advancement.  "Her experience in higher education makes her a great fit in this position."

A New Castle native and Neshannock High School graduate, Petro earned an undergraduate degree in secondary education from Slippery Rock University.  She comes from the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a master's degree in higher education with a specialization in student affairs and served more than five years in various roles, most recently as director of student and young alumni programs for the Pitt Alumni Association.

"I am really looking forward to my new role at Westminster," Petro said.  "Getting alumni energized and excited about their alma mater is one of the many reasons I love my line of work.  I look forward to contributing to and enhancing that atmosphere of pride here at Westminster."
