Students Selected for 'Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities'

Westminster College senior mathematics majors Michael Girata and Amanda Kowalczyk were selected for inclusion in the 2014 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. The students were recognized for this achievement by Westminster's Student Government Association (SGA) at a reception held in April.

Girata is a son of John and Bernadette Girata of Monaca and a graduate of Central Valley High School.

Kowalczyk, who also majors in biology, is a daughter of Adam and Pamela Kowalczyk of Delmont and a graduate of Greensburg-Salem High School.

Who's Who Among Students is a national college student recognition program that has been compiling its list since 1934. Criteria for membership include grade point average, participation and leadership within school organizations and extracurricular activities, community involvement and future leadership ability and/or potential.

Both students were nominated for the award by Dr. Terri Lenox, professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
