Westminster College Music Student to Perform Senior Recital

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College senior Lauren Clauser will present her senior capstone recital at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Clauser will perform flute works by Bach, Hanson, Bozza, and Poulenc, as well as works for two flutes and piano with senior music education major Jennifer Peet, flute, and a trio for flute, horn, and piano with freshman music education major Linsey Clauser. Jeffrey Wachter, adjunct professor of music, will accompany on piano.

While at Westminster, Lauren Clauser has participated in numerous musical ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, and flute choir, as well as playing in the pit orchestra for Opera Westminster.

She has earned academic recognition in Pi Sigma Pi; gained membership in Kappa Delta Pi, an education honors fraternity; and participates in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA). Lauren Clauser was also a co-winner of Westminster's Concerto and Aria Competition in the 2012-2013 academic year and received the Outstanding Junior Music Education Major award.  In the spring of 2013, Lauren Clauser participated in the College Band Directors National Association Small Intercollegiate Band in Greensboro, N.C.

Lauren Clauser studies in the flute studio of David Tessmer, adjunct professor of music. She and Linsey Clauser are both daughters of Robert and Dana Clauser of Schuylkill Haven and graduates of Blue Mountain High School.

Peet is a daughter of Robert and Sharon Peet of Pittsford, N.Y., and a graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School.
