Westminster College Assistant Professor Published in the Journal of Family Issues

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Dr. Rena C. Zito, Westminster College assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice studies, was recently published in the Journal of Family Issues.

"Family Structure History and Teenage Cohabitation: Instability, Socioeconomic Disadvantage, or Transmission?" uses nationally-representative survey data to analyze the complex pathways that link childhood family structure experiences to family functioning, peer contexts, and, ultimately, living with a romantic partner during the teenage years.

The Journal of Family Issues, a SAGE publication, is a peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary journal featuring research and theory on marriage and family life.

Zito joined the faculty in 2012 after earning a Ph.D. in sociology from North Carolina State University. She has published other research on families and youth behavior in the Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice, Sociological Perspectives, and the Journal of Marriage and Family.
