Westminster College Hosted New Student Prep Days, Summer Preview Days

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College Admissions hosted hundreds of students and parents at New Student Prep Days July 1, 12 and 13.

The event is designed to assist students and parents to successfully navigate the administrative details of financial aid, student bills, purchasing computers and how to navigate the campus networks, academic scheduling and advising, and information on meal plans. Students also were photographed for their student ID's and learned about residence life.

New Student Prep Days is in addition to Westminster's formal orientation program, Fresh Start. Fresh Start will be held Aug. 23-26, prior to the first week of classes starting on Aug. 27. All new students are required to attend.

Admissions will also host Summer Preview Days Aug. 2 and 9 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This event includes an introductory admission and financial aid session, a student-led campus tour, and lunch. Call (724) 946-7100 to make a reservation.

Sodexo, Westminster's food management company for more than 40 years, catered lunch for the students and their families. An informational display table was set-up with forms for Fill My Fridge Gift Baskets and bakery packages parents could order for their students, as well as Commuter Meal plan fliers, and student employment applications.

The Admissions Office is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays during the academic year (September through May 12) from 9 a.m. - noon. Appointments for weekdays may be made beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Appointments for Saturdays may be made beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 11:15 a.m. All campus visitors will receive a $35 application fee waiver.
