Westminster College to Host Community Vespers Worship Service in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College will host a Service of Remembrance in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Wallace Memorial Chapel. The service is open to the public.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Patrice L. Fowler-Searcy, director of Mission Ministry at East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. Fowler-Searcy received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Purdue University and is working towards a Master of Divinity at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Music will be provided by the Westminster College Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor of music and director of choral activities.

Westminster staff participating in the service include: the Rev. James Mohr, Westminster chaplain; the Rev. Jeannette Hubbard, Westminster director of diversity services; and Kathryn Davison Miller, Westminster College organist.

The Thiel College Soldiers for God Mime and Dance Group will also be participating in the service.
