Westminster College Art Gallery to Host Fiona Larkin Exhibit

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College's Department of Communication Studies, Theatre and Art will host an opening Monday, Oct. 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Art Gallery in Patterson Hall, featuring work by artist Fiona Larkin. She will give a gallery talk at 5:15 p.m. The event is free to the public.

Larkin is a multi-media artist based in Orchid Studios, Belfast.  This will be her first exhibition in the United States. She exhibits her work both nationally in Ireland and internationally with work shown in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Japan.   She earned a bachelor's from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and a master's from the University of Ulster in Belfast. 

The exhibition runs Oct. 1-26 and will feature video and photographs by Larkin. The Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Art Gallery hosts six exhibits annually, one of which is the student/ senior exhibit in March. Regional, national, and international artists are brought to campus for exhibits and lectures.
