Alumnus to Give 25th Annual Christy Lecture April 15

Craig Schweiger, a 1990 Westminster College graduate, will give the 25th annual Wayne H. Christy Lecture during Vespers Sunday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in Westminster's Wallace Memorial Chapel. The service is free and open to the public.
Schweiger will speak on "Who Are You, Where Are You Going, How Are You Going to Get There?"
Schweiger, a Pittsburgh native, is executive director of the Light of Life Rescue Mission that serves the poor, homeless, and addicted of greater Pittsburgh. He has spent 20 years in the mortgage and real estate business, founded a title/closing agency and a contracting company, and co-founded and served as president of Federated Mortgage Corporation.
His other ministry interests include renovating homes on Pittsburgh's North Side, Light of Life real estate advisory committee, and the Joshua Foundation, established in memory of the Schweigers' son who died of a rare undetected heart defect.
Schweiger and his wife, Leeanne Smith '87, are the parents of six children.
Additional worship participants include the Rev. Jim Mohr, chaplain, and Dr. Darwin Huey, professor of education. Music will be provided by Kathryn Davison Miller, Westminster organist, and the Westminster Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor of music and director of choral activities.
The opening prayer will be given by senior business administration major Jonathan Faltot, a son of George and Joan Faltot of Mercer and a graduate of Mercer Area High School.
Scripture reading will be given by senior English major Addison Christy Domske, a daughter of Ronee Christy of Oil City and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School. Domske is a granddaughter of the late Dr. Christy.
The Wayne H. Christy Memorial Lecture series honors the late Dr. Christy, who was a long-time faculty member and chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Westminster College. As Dr. Christy dedicated his life to relating the heritage of faith to the emerging issues of a changing culture, the lecture series seeks out men and women who distinguish themselves by relating Christian faith to issues of contemporary life.
