"Get Real!" Series Opens Spring Semester with Session on Relationships

Posted on Thursday, February 2, 2012

Westminster College's "Get Real!" life preparation series will open the spring semester with "How Will I Know? Partnering for Life and Love" Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 12:45 p.m. in the Witherspoon Lakeview Room of McKelvey Campus Center.

Presented by Babs Quincy, Westminster director of counseling services, the session will focus on the elements of a good, lasting, and loving relationship that may potentially last a lifetime.  The lunchtime program is limited to the first 25 Westminster students to register.

Participants will explore typical myths about how a love relationship should function and how a partner should behave; elements of healthy relationships; relationship "destroyers;" and conversations that should take place before a lifelong commitment is made.

Additional sessions scheduled for this semester are "Current Events" on March 20 and "First Year on the Job" on March 27.

Sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, the "Get Real!" series is a program that acquaints students with life after college.  It provides helpful advice on financial planning; banking; medical care; consumer and personal legal matters; apartment, auto, and house hunting; getting the most out of leisure activities; and preparing for lifelong relationships.
