Posted on Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Students from area junior and senior high schools competed in the regional History Day competition at Westminster College March 31.

This year's theme, "Debate and Diplomacy: Successes, Failures, Consequences," was portrayed by students in one of nine categories: individual or group exhibits, individual or group performance, individual or group documentary, group or individual website design, or individual paper.

Schools from Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, and Venango counties were invited to the regional competition.

Those placing first or second in any category advance to the state contest, May 11-12, at Millersville University.  State winners advance to the national contest at the University of Maryland, College Park June 12-16.
