Dr. EileenMorelli, Westminster College associate professor of education, will speak at Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Morelli will present "Do Reluctant Readers Respond to Intervention?" and will describe findings from her recent sabbatical that focused on Response to Intervention, the latest program for improving reading with K-12 students.

In addition, Morelli will discuss her current project using Kindle, a wireless device for downloading and reading books, to motivate seventh-grade readers.

Morelli, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2002, earned an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University, master's from Valparaiso University, and doctorate in education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Dr. Barbara Faires, Westminster professor of mathematics emerita, during her term as Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning. Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.
