Dr. Sherri Pataki, Westminster College assistant professor of psychology, co-authored "Ways of Giving Benefits in Marriage: Norm Use, Relationship Satisfaction, and Attachment-Related Variability" that was recently published in Psychological Science, a publication of the Association for Psychological Science.

According to the abstract, "Couples reported on bases for giving support and on relationship satisfaction just prior to and approximately two years into marriage. Overall, a need-based, communal norm was seen as ideal and was followed, and greater use of this norm was linked to higher relationship satisfaction."

Pataki, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2004, earned an undergraduate degree from Allegheny College and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University.
