College Adds Seven New Full-Time Faculty

Westminster College recently added seven new full-time faculty members.
Dr. Jeffrey Boerner, assistant professor of mathematics, earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from St. Olaf College and master's and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Iowa. Dr. Kerri Duerr, visiting assistant professor of biology, earned an undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in environmental science and policy from Hartwick College, master's in biology from Villanova University, and Ph.D. in natural resources from the University of Vermont. She has teaching experience at Villanova University, the University of Vermont, and most recently at the College of William and Mary. Dr. Rotua Lumbantobing, assistant professor of economics, earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Indonesia, a master's in finance from the University of Rochester, and Ph.D. in economics with a minor in statistics at North Carolina State University. Jane Martin, visiting lecturer of education, earned an undergraduate degree in French and elementary education from Thiel College, master's in elementary education from Edinboro University, and is pursuing a D.Ed. at Youngstown State University. She holds certifications as a reading specialist, elementary principal and supervisor, and secondary principal. Her teaching experience covers elementary school, college, and adult GED classes. She comes to Westminster from the Midwestern Intermediate Unit, where she was director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Kurt Roscoe, assistant professor of art, earned an undergraduate degree in graphic design with a minor in computer graphics from Youngstown State University and a master of fine art in graphic design from Kent State University. He has extensive professional experience in graphic design and has won numerous local and national awards for his design work. He has teaching experience at Cuyahoga Community College and comes to Westminster from Youngstown State University, where he was an assistant professor of graphic design. Brittany Rowe-Cernevicius, instructor of public relations, earned undergraduate and master's degrees in speech and communication studies from Edinboro University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in communication studies at Bowling Green (OH) State University. Summer Zickefoose, visiting assistant professor of art, earned undergraduate degrees in art history and studio art from the University of Iowa and master of fine art in multi-media/ceramics from the University of Florida, Gainesville. She has extensive research, travel, and teaching experience at the high school and undergraduate level.
