Theatre Professor Designed Set for Play in St. Louis

Posted on Thursday, March 25, 2010

Gianni Downs, Westminster College assistant professor of theatre, designed the set for the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis' production of Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment.

A reviewer at broadwayworld.com described "the marvelous scenic design of Gianni Downs, which offers up about 30 dingy doors at varying levels (a number of which are actually utilized), as well as a scalable heap of tables and chairs."

Downs, who joined the Westminster faculty in August, earned an undergraduate degree in theatre arts with a fine art minor from the University of New Hampshire and a master of fine art in scenic design from Brandeis University.
