Westminster College's Language in Motion program will host 130 high school students from Wilmington Area School District for the fourth annual Foreign Language Intercultural Day Monday, March 29.

This year's theme, "An Exploration of the Cultural Impact of Religion and Philosophy," will involve Latin, Spanish, French, and gifted students in a full day of activities led by Westminster students.

Milagros Swerdlow, Westminster lecturer in Spanish and Language in Motion coordinator, has selected eight Westminster students to make presentations and guide activities throughout the day: Ken Cloonan, Alex Davis, Emileigh Drylie, Aaron Eisenreich, Adam Griffith, Rebecca Mihalski, Noelle Nuckels, and David Tobias.

The school district's language teachers will provide assistance and expertise, along with Dr. Dwight Castro, Westminster professor of classics, and Dr. Jacob Erhardt, Westminster professor of German emeritus.

Language in Motion is an innovative outreach program that gives study-abroad returnees, international students, and upper-level language students the opportunity to create language and cultural activities for presentation in K-12 language, social studies, and other classes where culture can be studied.

Westminster's Language in Motion program is sponsored by Westminster's Department of Modern Languages, Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the Heritage Chair of Humanities.
