Westminster College recently received a million-dollar bequest from the estate of 1945 alumna Betty Naugle Parisen.

A portion of the bequest will establish the Betty J. Parisen Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide scholarship assistance to students with demonstrated financial need and academic merit.

Mrs. Parisen earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from Westminster and a master's in education from the University of Pittsburgh. A business teacher, she retired from the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

"Westminster is grateful to Mrs. Parisen for her generosity and the opportunities her gift will provide for future generations of students," said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Gloria Cagigas.
