Symphony Orchestra to Present Holiday Concert Dec. 2

The Westminster College Symphony Orchestra will present its holiday concert Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program includes Tchaikovsky's "Marche Slave;" Haydn's "Symphony No. 26" ("The Christmas Symphony"); Anderson's "A Christmas Festival;" and Hofeldt's "Lullabye."

Westminster faculty participating in the orchestra are Dr. David Cushman, professor and chair of Westminster's Department of Economics and Business, on oboe; and Dr. Daniel Perttu, assistant professor of music, on bassoon.

The orchestra is under the direction of Melinda Crawford Perttu, who joined the Westminster faculty in August. She earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a master's from Ohio State University.
