Westminster College celebrated academic excellence at the annual Honors Convocation April 25 in Orr Auditorium.

The program included music by Kathryn Davison Miller, College organist; invocation and benediction by the Rev. James R. Mohr II, College chaplain; and a welcome from College President Dr. Richard H. Dorman. Faculty marshals were Dorita Bolger, professor and librarian, and Dr. Richard Sprow, professor of English.

Dr. Jesse Mann, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College, recognized Dean's List scholars, scholarship recipients, and scholar-athletes. Mann assisted Dr. David Goldberg, associate professor of philosophy, in recognizing students who have completed the College Honors program.

Bridget Roth, a senior public relations major from Pittsburgh and president of Pi Sigma Pi, led the tapping ceremony for induction of new members into the honor society. Members of the honor societies Lambda Sigma, Mortar Board, and Omicron Delta Kappa were recognized for their accomplishments.

Department chairs awarded scholarships in their various disciplines. Dr. Neal Edman, dean of student affairs, presented the McQuiston Outstanding Service Awards, given to rising senior men and women for unselfish service to the Westminster community during their college careers, and the Allen P. Splete Leadership and Service Award, given to a student who has provided sound leadership and selfless volunteerism to the curricular and co-curricular life on the Westminster campus.

Ashley Cesaratto, a senior music education major from Pittsburgh, led the singing of the Alma Mater. A reception followed in the Orr Auditorium lobby.
